About Winora

Winora is an independent comparison guide to online casinos licensed in Great Britain. We exist to answer one question well: of the hundreds of sites competing for a UK player’s deposit, which ten are actually worth it this month? The guide is free to use and always will be.

Our mission

Casino marketing is loud and the small print is long. We read the small print so you do not have to, test the parts of a site that matter — withdrawals, the cashier, the mobile lobby — and publish a ranking that a careful friend would give you. We only feature operators licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, because a licence is the minimum guarantee that your money is protected and the games are fair.

How we make money

We are an affiliate site. When you click a link on Winora and go on to open an account with a casino, the operator may pay us a commission — either a share of its revenue from that account, a fixed fee per sign-up, or a combination of both. This is the only way the site earns money. You never pay more for a bonus or a deposit because you arrived through us; the commission comes out of the operator’s marketing budget.

We think that deserves to be said plainly rather than buried, so it appears here, in our Terms & Conditions and in the footer of every page.

Editorial independence

Commission does not buy a ranking. The same casino that pays us can fall down the list the month it lengthens its payout times or tightens its wagering — and it has happened. Operators cannot edit their reviews or see them before publication. Where a placement is paid for rather than earned, it is labelled as sponsored. We do not accept payment to remove negative findings.

Long-term trust over short-term fees
